If the Yankee’s want to win in 2009 my suggestion would be to get rid of Alex Rodriguez! A rod is a great player to have for the regular season but in my mind he does not bleed Yankee Blue. I feel that he needs to be shipped out of town and the team needs to eat the money they gave him. Yeah he can hit, but they need pitching. They need to get some soild young talent into the mix. I would say start with A Rod and trade him to a team like the Chicago Cubs, who could put him at Shortstop and he is away from the American league and try to get some of there young arms to put in the bullpen. Steinbrenner jr really needs to consider it. They need Pitching in the worst way.
If they do not deal A Rod, get rid of the old players and start young. Get rid of Johnny Damon, Jason Giambi and bring in young players. Let Joe Giardi work his magic with a young team. I would take a bad year with young good talent, then a long bad year with good talent. Lets see what the young guys can do.
With the long drawn out all star game coming to an end in the wee hours of the morning, it is time for the all stars to regroup with there teams and get ready for the stretch run of the second half of the season. There are many question that I myself have been waiting to see answered. Plus, there are a couple that have already been answered. I think the first half was fun to watch if your are a Tampa Bay Devil Ray or a Chicago Cub fan. Not so fun to watch if you are a Colorado Rocky or a Seattle Mariner fan. Colorado Rockies had high hopes, but nothing has went there way and they are in Last place and the Seattle Mariners were the same way. They had a heck of a team and now they have a new manager and have started some what of a youth movement. Lets get into the question that have been on my mind for the last couple of days.
1. Will the Chicago Cubs hold on and win the Division?
I feel that this is the year of the Cubs. Everything seems to be falling into place for them. The have been playing really good baseball, plus there pitching staff is the best. They have 2 guys that are 10 game winners and could have 4 guys win 20 or more games! The hitting has also came around. The only flaw they have to over come is to learn how to win on the road. IF the do that the curse will be broken!
2. Will the New York Yankees Make the Playoff?
If I had to tell you my answer today it would be now. I think the team is in Caous and needs some new players to be brought in. There pitching staff is getting really old and the only player that they can count on out of the bullpen is Marino Ravera and that is only to close out the game. Jobo Chamerblain has been one of the plus’s for this team. But, there hitting is to much of a question mark. I would really like to see them catch the Boston Red Sox’s and win the division and make the playoffs.
3. Will the Tampa Bay Devil Rays Flop?
I do not think they will, I think once they get out of this slump they will be one of the teams that will be in the playoffs and I am going on a long shot here, I think they will be the team to represent the American League in the world series. Write that down you hear it hear first!
4. Will Barry Bonds play again?
I would like to think he will because some team is in need of a bat. I think it is really said that the steroid case that he has against him has really hurt him. I feel that he is a good guy deep down. I liked seeing him hit home runs into mccovey cove. So I dont think he will get picked up but I would like to see it happen.
5. What Big name players will be traded to help teams with the stretch run?
I think that Ken Griffey Jr will end up getting traded, I would like to see him go to the devil rays I think he is the bat that they are missing. Jr would be a big plus for the team cause he camn play the field and dh for them. His team mate Adam Dunn will be another player that I think will be traded, I would not be surprised to see him in Yankee pin stripes. He is the bat that they need. Those are the two guys that I could see going.

Hank Steinbrenner made a comment in the New Times this week stating that it is time for the Yankees to start “earning there money.” How does he get the team to start winning? Does he need to have a rebuilding sale? Does he go and trade for the players that will help win? With them being just 3 1/2 games out of first they are not far out. What will it take? I like the comment Steinbrenner made was “This is going to get turned around. If not turned around this year, then it will be turned around next year, by force if we have to.” What a great quote, that shows that he is dedicated to turning the team around. I think that Brain Cashman’s days are numbered. He has not done anything to make this team a contender. I feel that Hank is going to be the GM of the baseball team either by the middle of this year or the start of next year. With them moving into a new stadium he has to do something . Next think you know George will be making a statement next that he will be coming out of retirement.
Does anyone have any suggestion on what they can do to turn it around?
Die Hard New York Yankee fan Ivonne Hernandez is being charged with reckless second degree murder, aggravated driving while intoxicated and two counts of reckless conduct. Harnandez was in a bar full of Red Sox fans, when a couple of guys at the bar started heckling her. She got up and left and the guys kept at her and she got in her car and proceeded to leave and backed into the guys to give the a scare. One of the guys flew 48 feet in the air and the other suffered minor injuries after getting hit. She is being held with out bail.
When does heckling go to far? I feel that this is way to to far to kill someone over. Does anyone out there have any other Heckling stories that they have seen go far?
After a couple weeks of hearing that Roger Clemens was on Steroids and that he lied to the grand jury, it is now being reports that he had an on going affair with a country singer. The girl in question was 15 years old when they met and guess what he is denying this too. Roger how much more denying can you do? You say you didn’t do roids, you say that were not at a party at Jose Canseco’s house. Roger your a liar and a cheater and frankly you are a disgrace to the Yankee pinstripes. I hope you wear the Red Sox’s Cap proud when you go into the Hall of Fame. You do not deserve your World Series Ring or the Car that gave back and I wish that Mike Piazza would of knocked you out when you threw the bat at him in your Roid Rage!
Roger in my book you are a disgrace to baseball and to your family. You Cheated and lied about it. Pete Rose may have bet while he was a manager and is ban for life you need to be banned too, but since your not a real man and will not stand up and say sorry I made a mistake forgive me you are a piece of crap.

The David Ortiz Jersey that was buried in the new yankee stadium, is up for auction on Ebay. They Starting price for the Jersey was $500 dollars. It is now up to $33,100.00 and is rising. Who in there right mind would pay that much for a jeresy? If I had the money I would, Then I would take it and bury it at Fenway Park. and sprinkle the Curse all over the field so they start another drought of not winning games.
The 2008 Major League Baseball season could be a really interesting one. The are many questions flying around about many different things in the league. Will this be the year that he Chicago Cubs end the curse? What team will Barry Bonds end up on? Can the New York Yankees win with A Rod? How will Joe Torre do in Los Angeles? That is just to name a few that I will be giving you answers to in the next week. I myself think that the Yankees are going to win it all again. They have retooled there pitching staff with young arms, but still have veteran leadership to take them to the promise land.
My World Series predication is going to be the Chicago Cubs vs. the New York Yankees. With the Yankees winning in 6 and closing the door of Yankee Stadium in style.
Hello Sports fans. I am predicting it now this is the year of the New York Yankees. They have a lethal lineup. Plus, if there starting pitching is good they will win 100 games. Like I said you heard it hear first. The Yankees will win 100 games and the world series. I am also going to start polling now for George Steinbrenner for President and Derek Jeter for MVP. The American League MVP winner is: Alex Rodriguez. This is a man that plays well in the regular season and cannot do anything in the post season. If rumors are true he will end his career in the Bronx. He will be the all time home run leader and maybe he can have the most home runs in a season. He will also help bring another title to Yankee town. If A Rod does not sign his deal what team do you see him playing for? why?
